The "Self-Belief" Problem
I worked with a therapist recently who wasn’t feeling very confident about starting her own business.
She had the skills, and the passion. But she also had family who, with the best of intentions, kept pointing out all the potential problems. They made her feel like the challenges she faced might be too big to overcome.
We talked it through. I reminded her of what she could do, the strengths she already had, and the fact that every business owner has to work around challenges. It’s part of the journey.
By the end of our chat, her whole energy had changed. She was smiling, talking about ideas, and even making plans to set up on her own.
If you need that encouragement to take the next step in your massage business, I’m here for you.

The "IÂ Don't Know Which Way to Turn" Problem
Another therapist was feeling pulled in several directions.
She was battling imposter syndrome and struggling with self-confidence. She told me she found it hard to get information to stick. She’d read or hear advice, but it wouldn’t always translate into action. On top of that, she had a tricky client who wanted to chat through the entire session, and she wasn’t sure how to handle it without being rude.
We talked through each challenge, one at a time.
- I showed her some ways to gently guide a talkative client without making it awkward.
- We worked on a few practical steps she could take to build her confidence.
- And I reassured her that struggling to retain everything at once is normal. Most business skills click over time, with practice.
By the end, she could see that she wasn’t failing. She was learning. And she left with a clear, simple plan for what to try next.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re juggling too many challenges at once, you’re not the only one — and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

The "Am I Successful" problem
For this therapist, it was never the plan to become full-time. She already had an office job but wanted a little extra income. Her goal was simple: to enjoy the freedom of working around her other commitments of work and family without feeling tied down.
We looked at her Facebook strategy, and now she’s seeing between two and four clients on the evenings she chooses. Not bad for a side hustle!
Being a full-time therapist isn’t everyone’s dream. My aim is to help you create a business that fits your life, your commitments, and your goals, while making the income you need.
NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Esther Smith
I trained to be a massage therapist after I was made redundant from a management position when I was 49. I was really excited about my new career, but the timing was awful. I had one set-back after another that were all out of my control, but I was determined to make it work.
I now have a very busy practice I’m proud of, with a steady stream of new clients as and when I need them.
Now I use my own personal experience and success to help people just like you find their way to having the businesses they deserve.Â
